Gina Thompson
Executive Director

Gina Thompson, born and raised on Long Island, New York, earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting and computers from Pace University in Briarcliff, New York.  She spent 15 years as a banker in New York City and moved to Stuart, Florida in 2002 where she took five years off to stay at home raising her daughter.  In 2007, Thompson went back to school and earned her master’s degree in psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University.  She is now a licensed mental health  counselor in the State of Florida. 


Kim Martin-Gaudet
Operations Manager

Kim was born and raised in Long Island, New York and relocated to Florida in 1982.  Prior to joining Mary’s Shelter in 2010, Kim spent much of her professional career in the financial and banking industry. She also ran a house management business on Jupiter Island for 10 years. She is an active member in the Catholic Church and lives in Stuart with her husband and two sons.


Nancy Metzler
House Manager

Nancy Metzler was born and raised in Plainview, New York. While in New York Nancy help create two ministries through her church which focused on providing those who were homeless and in need with clothing, housing and food. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Social Work.

Madeleine Greenwood      Outreach & Development Coordinator

Madeleine is a Stuart, FL native.  She graduated from Centenary College with a BA in Liberal Arts.  Prior to joining Mary's Shelter in August 2014, Madeleine was the Vice President of Human Resources & Administration at a local non-profit where she worked for 19 years before deciding to leave the HR field.  She was also very active in the local chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management with volunteer leadership roles as the local Martin County Chapter President, HR Florida State Council member, Best Places to Work Martin County Chair, Steps to Success Chair, and American Red Cross CPR & First Aid Instructor to name a few.  Madeleine lives in Stuart with her husband and two daughters.

April Young                            Volunteer Coordinator

April is originally from Vero Beach, FL.  She now lives in Stuart with her husband and two children.  April has been traveling for the past 20 years due to her husband's military career.  During their duty stations, April has been a school teacher, Ombudsman for the Navy and a Case Manager at Family Promise--a homeless program.  Her volunteer experiences include serving in leadership roles in the USS Alabama's family support group, Japan's Ombudsman Committee, USO Fundraisers, Financial Assitant for the Navy Marine Reliefe and on the Family selection committee for Habitat for Humanity.  April's educational studies include Early Childhood Education, HR, resource & referral, life coaching, communication skills, PTSD Awareness & Suicide Prevention. 

Michellle King                        Resident Advisor

Michelle is originally from Beach Haven, New Jersey.  She has been a resident of Stuart for 10 years.  Michelle has a Bachelor's in Social Work and holds and AAS in Dietetics.  Within her 30 year career in the healthcare industry, she has held positions including crisis response, substance abuse, mental health and eating disorders.
