“Coming to Mary’s Shelter has changed my life. It took me a long time to realize that if I wanted to change, I would have to suck up my pride.  Since I’ve been at Mary’s Shelter I have so much help and support.  A lot of people in my past gave up on me because of my attitude but not Mary’s Shelter, they gave me a chance, and I can never fully say thank you for but I can thrive in everything I put my mind to.  I go to church every Sunday, God has shown me I am loved and that I am perfect just the way I am, before this I barely prayed.”

“Mary’s Shelter has helped me to believe in myself. Before coming here, I didn’t think I could do it.  I had no idea how to care for myself and certainly not someone else.  I learned how to organize my life.  I learned to cook, clean and budget.  I knew God loved me but I spent no time with Him.  Now I know I am wanted, I am loved and I can do it.  It’s not always fun but life isn’t always fun either.  I stayed, I got everything I could from the program and the people and now I am sure I can do this on my own.”

“Mary’s Shelter is more than just a shelter, it’s a place where people care about you and help you and support you. I didn’t like it at first, I did not want to get up every morning and make my bed.  I did not want to go to school.  But I had a baby coming and I had to take care of more than just me.  I finally let go and I started following the program.  I am so happy I did.  I learned a lot and I have so much more then I came here with.”
